Free Pepper Saver

And yet, another addition to our saver family… the Pepper Saver!

Perfect for saving all of your loose pepper parts, storing them for longer in the fridge and for remembering that they are there in the first place!

Pepper fact:

Bell peppers are a fantastic source of vitamin C.  Although it is commonly thought that citrus fruits are the best source of vitamin C, peppers have them beat.  Green peppers have double the amount of vitamin C by weight than citrus fruits… and red bell peppers have three times as much vitamin C as the green varieties and are a good source of beta carotene.  So even though red peppers cost more… your health may be worth it!

Green bell peppers contain as much as two times of vitamin C as oranges while red or yellow pepper packs three or four times the daily value of vitamin C.

    • I’m sorry Tiffany, but your interesting fact about peppers was the exact same as our fact. Unfortunately, we can’t give this one to ya! You will receive the Onion Saver, Garlic Saver, and the Tomato Saver! Congratulations! Here at Kitchen Boutique we love to learn about what our customers think about the products we sell. Thanks for commenting and hope to see you back here again!

LOL! Ok, I was reading this while I was tired. I the first paragraph and then I actually did go online to look for that fact. It was the first one I found that was about bell, not chili peppers. Just to be fair, even if I won’t win, here is another… Green peppers produce odors that will be absorbed by pineapples. I have no idea why one would need to know this…

An interesting pepper fact…. orange peppers have more zeaxanthin in them than any other fruit or vegetable! (they help protect your eyes and your cells)

Red bell peppers are among the most nutrient-dense vegetables you can buy, with just one medium pepper containing only about 30-40 calories and providing an excellent source of vitamin C (one of the best sources), vitamin A, and vitamin B6. This treat has no fat, cholesterol or sodium and very few carbohydrates.

Aren’t pepper facts fun? Another fun fact, on a personal note. It is almost impossible to find an oil painting of a single red pepper. Multiple peppers: yes; single green/orange/hot peppers: yes; but single red peppers: no. I have looked in art galleries all over the world, and finally found one in some random tiny town in France. The lovely artpiece is now in my kitchen. I’d love some more, if anyone knows anyone who can paint a red pepper!

    • Charla, Thank you for your comment on peppers! No, I haven’t come across any pictures with a single red pepper on it, but we do carry a large single red pepper canister for sale in our Cochrane store. Presently we are out of stock, but we will be getting a shipment with it in from the States very soon… let me know if you are interested and I can pop it onto our web store so you can have a look at it. Sorry, but the other two ladies already won the two free pepper savers available.
